"When you wake up, get up." That's a quote from Bryan Dodge at our recent Global Family Reunion event in Punta Cana. It's an inspiring thought to which we can all relate: when you wake up, get up! When he said it, I immediately thought about how easy it is to take a shortcut; the days when it would have been great to stay in bed and sleep. Yes, it's important to get plenty of rest (maybe go to bed earlier?) and yet to get up and get started on your day is key. Most successful people wake up before 6AM. Most of their important work is finished before much of the world is even out of bed. And their day is just beginning, because they don't stop at "good enough." It's easy to "snooze" and it's easy to put things off until tomorrow. But if you get up and get out, you'll be that much further ahead of your own personal success.
And yet, there's another level. The notion kept ringing in my head: "when you wake up, get up." When you wake up to a realization, get up and do something about it. When you wake up to a new idea, get up and take action. When you wake up to bad habits, a new direction, ah-ha moments, negative people, great ideas, brave perceptions or the next thing that is going to build your dreams to complete fulfillment, get up and do the next right thing. When I saw Bryan this past weekend at our Financial Fitness Workshop, I confirmed my thoughts. He said that most people see the surface of that concept and when you relate it to your everyday life and future goals, you'll see the bigger picture. Now that you've woken up, get up.
Love,

"you should never underestimate the power of keeping your mind open to new information. If you're always receptive, you could gain just that piece of the puzzle you need, when you're least expecting it."― Bryan Dodge, The Good Life Rules
