Dear GIN Family,

“Don’t let Don write checks” is another theme we have around here.  Much like my Christmas wrapping skills, writing checks may not be my forte.  A couple of weeks ago, I was getting ready to walk out the door to head to the airport when I got a call from one of our vendors.  He wanted to know if we could send him a check instead of using our card he had on file. (I guess because the amount was large and he did not want to pay the 3 percent merchant charge).  I did not have time to go through the proper channels of getting him a check, so I just pulled one out of the drawer, wrote it myself and sent it off.  When I got home the vendor called me and said his bank would not cash the check.  I said why not?  He said, first you put one amount on top, then you wrote a different amount on the bottom.  Then you wrote the check in two different colors of ink.  They wanted to know if Bozo the Clown wrote the check?

I have worked with many Millionaires over the past and most of them are brilliant in the area that created their wealth, but clueless in other areas.  The main point is, it does not take you to be a “Jack of all trades to become rich”.  It is hard to find an extraordinary barber, massage therapist, dentist, doctor or extraordinary anything, therefore the key to riches is to be “Extraordinary” at whatever you do!  I am Extraordinary at writing, just not writing checks! Lol.
