It was one of those days. One thing after the other. All the meetings, action, appointments and work that needed to be done. Business, home, friends, family, car… everything needs your attention. No time to play, no time to exercise, no time for gratitude, no time for you. It was all business, all day long. Yet, when it comes to the basics – the things you should do every day to not only survive, but thrive and make everything worthwhile – there is really no time not to do those basics. If you want to set yourself up for success and happiness and empower your very own future, you should do the basics. Your day confronts you without notice, and if you've mastered your own basics, it can be the positive habit you've always had. You may not be able to fit it all in, but you can (and need to) give yourself a mental break.

When you've mastered the basics, the basics become your everyday… no matter what. When you've made the basics the priority, then the priority takes prescience. The best part is that you get to decide what your basics are: Health? Family? Love? Wealth? Happiness? Gratitude? Or is it social media, gossip, negativity and distractions? On your busiest of days, you discover what your real priorities are – or should be. Cherish those days, because they reveal the truth and allow you to make the change and master your own basics for your ideal future.

"Know your priorities and identify the five powerful action steps that you intend to take to move your initiatives forward each day. If you go to a tree with an ax and take five whacks at the tree every day, it doesn't matter if it's an oak or a redwood; eventually, the tree has to fall down." – Jack Canfield
