You've seen the popular TV shows where people are searching for their ideal house: Mountain Chalet, Beachfront property or Luxurious Urban Penthouse. Do they want something to fix up or an instant upgrade? Simple Island Life, Vacation Hideaway or Hometown Nostalgia? In each episode, there is a decided "before and after," where you see the instant results of their efforts. The same is true for movies: our hero overcomes the obstacles and one montage scene has him working, planning and preparing for the ultimate showdown. TV shows and Movies have a way of highlighting the steps it takes in the process.
When you're in the pursuit of the ultimate goal, picture your montage. Imagine each of the key steps as part of the amazing progression to getting what you want. Every challenge is accomplished, and each moment is leading you in the right direction to how you want the finale to be. You can even play your own theme music in your head. Your dream may take weeks or months or years… or even a lifetime, but if you picture in your mind the work, progression and the end result, it's as easy as a montage.
"I am not the richest, smartest or most talented person in the world, but I succeed because I keep going and going and going." – Sylvester Stallone
