Ms. Payne gathered her students around as she opened the trophy case and placed the new one inside. First Place at the Science Fair - 2018. For the past 8 years of competing, her class had finished out of the top ten, but this year, Ms. Payne tried a new approach: instead of working on a project that they knew they could master, she had them visualize what the winning project would be. This new challenge confronted their best skills and allowed them to achieve greater heights than ever imagined: First Place. Who knew that hard work could be so easy?
It's easy to repeat the same day over and again: you wake up, you work, you go home. It's simple to just do what you've always done. You have the same meals and the same events with the same friends. Your projects are manageable, you walk the same path wherever you are going, your encounters with others are all just like the last time, your workouts are exactly 30 minutes long. When was the last time you truly challenged yourself? When was the last time you pushed yourself to go further in your projects or your workout or your relationships? When you challenge yourself to go past the point where you quit before - to go farther than you did last time, you'll grow in ways you never thought possible. Who knew that hard work could be so easy?
