“A Sip of GIN A Day Keeps Success Coming Your Way”

Dear GIN Family,

As we pursue our hunger and desire to learn, we must be just if not more adamant about “Doing” or practicing what we learn.  We must “Do” before we can “Have” and we must Be before we can Do.  The great thing about our GIN training is it lays down a pathway to run on allowing us to practice what we learn.  The great secret to life is that only we can apply the knowledge others give us.  Knowledge without application is of no value and produce zero results.  Having all the knowledge in the world and never putting action to it is like having a basket full of high quality seed and never planting them.

Yes, learn, learn, learn, but then go out and Do, Do, Do, every day!  As the greatest book in the world teaches; “Faith without works or corresponding action is dead”.  You have a whole wonderful live and Universe to conquer, explore and enjoy and they key to do it successfully is put action to your knowledge.  When you learn to do that, life becomes Fun!

“A Sip of GIN A Day Keeps Success Coming Your Way”

Dear GIN Family,

What is a key element in taking the leading positon in any industry or field?  What will make you the name brand leader?  Having the “Slight Edge”.  The Slight Edge is usually a very small, minute difference but it’s the core factor of winning.  You see its always better to “Almost Lose” than to “Almost Win”.

In business winning is simply a score card of how well you are doing, how well you are serving and how well you are growing.  In my companies I invest a lot of time, money, effort, love, giving and training into all those who work with us and are on our team.  My rule is, “Hire Slow and Fire Fast”.  Since I do not like to fire people from our team, I am very slow in the process of bringing people onto our team.  The biggest culprit in hiring or working with the wrong people is to get infatuated with potential and talent.

Whenever someone’s talent supersedes their character, you have a “Disaster” just waiting to happen.  You can teach skill, ability and how to be proficient, but you cannot teach someone to have character.

I speak with many people every day who want to be engaged with me or my companies in some way and the first thing I seek on the phone is their “Teach-ability Index”.  The moment I pick up their energy in that area that its low I instantly end the conversation and say Good-Bye.

If a GIN member calls me and wants me to look at their business and product, the first thing I ask is what level are you and are your membership dues current?

If someone does not keep their dues current why would I expect they have anything I would be interested in, and even if I was interested in a product line, having a lapse membership is a red flag.  I have been given the excuse “I can’t afford my dues”.  That tells me they are not using our curriculum.

Keeping the Slight Edge as part of your “modes operendi” is what will always keep you on top and nothing will give the Slight Edge better than being proficient in our GIN curriculum.

A SIP of GIN for Tuesday September 13, 2016

Tuesday September 13, 2016

Dear GIN Family,

What is in your Imagination? For years I had a desire to have a real log cabin.  The kind a “Mountain Man” would have, only have the luxury of the 21st Century accommodations.  Hey I only want to play half the part of Daniel Boone.  Well one day a couple of years ago I decided to take my first step towards getting that log cabin so I went out and purchased a small wood bear that was carved from a log.  That was my first item of my log cabin.  This summer we built our real log cabin on our property but in all reality I started building it two years ago with that wood bear log.  I call this the “first nail process”.  If there is something Big you want, like a house, boat or new car, start with something small.  For instance, if you want a new home of your own, go out a get a nail and that becomes the start of your new home.  If you want a new car, go out and purchase a bottle of car wax you will use on it, and that is the beginning of your new car.  You can acquire something Big starting with something Small.  You want a pool in your backyard, go get a yellow rubber ducky.

Use your imagination, and then add a step of faith action and you will be well on your way to having what you want.  Remember faith (Imagination) without action is dead.  It was great to move my bear into its new cabin home.  When I first brought that wood bear home that I bought at a flea market in New Mexico a couple of years ago, I put him on my outside door step and every time I left the house or came home I would pat that bear on the head and take a deep breath of satisfaction as I would say, Ahhhh, my log cabin!  It’s interesting how words can impact you for a lifetime; when I was growing up my mom never called me Don she always called me “Daniel Boone”.

A SIP of GIN for Monday September 12, 2016

“A Sip of GIN A Day Keeps Success Coming Your Way”

Dear GIN Family,

I want to challenge you to Dream Big and dare to change the world with what you do.  Are you an author, trainer, teacher, speaker, business professional, doctor, attorney, full time parent, singer, dancer, artist, performer, entertainer, business person, network marketer, financial expert, mechanic, designer, artiest, farmer, Pastor or leader?  Whatever your gift is, it was given to you to share with the world.

I have found the best way to live large is by giving and sharing your gift and talents on a large platform.  But that takes faith, courage and action.  Find a way to stand up and stand out.  Be bold, be outrageous, be heard and be useful.  Be a contributor, make a deposit in people’s lives, spread hope and good cheer to everyone around you.  When you understand the dynamics of life, and the process of “Intentional Creation” of our dreams and how the Universe will send us what we need in order to give us what we want, then you can keep a smile on your face every day no matter what is going on.

We may not like getting what we need in order to get what we want, but that is simply the process that takes place many times in our lives.  Once I set my personal direction to get something, when things show up that I may not like, I simply tell myself “This is what I needed in order to get me what I want”.  This allows me to keep smiling at all times and knowing that everything is working out in my favor.  I never allow my eyes to steal my dreams or make me sing like Elvis, “I’m All Shook Up”.  Elvis was an entertainment icon for sure, but I am not growing long side burns, or wearing my hair duo like his nor singing that song.  What I do choose to follow like Elvis is to change the world through the power of my gifts.  I urge you to do the same!

“A Sip of GIN A Day Keeps Success Coming Your Way”

Dear GIN Family,

How exciting to know that you can create what you want by “Thinking” about and upon what you want.  It really is a simple process of changing thoughts not the process.  For most of our lives (before we became GIN members) we were conditioned, trained and programed to “Think” about all things we don’t have and don’t want.  In fact, we were at a state, (the same state that 97% of the masses are at) where we were unconsciously competent at it.  We could do it 24/7 without thinking about it, and what was the result of such unconscious competence?  We got all the things we didn’t want 100% percent of the time without fail.  Therefore, we keep the process we just change our thinking patterns.

When we have this insight and understanding and simply change our thoughts to the things we want we start moving out of worry, fret and frustration and into the faith realm of knowing, peace and expectation and feeling good throughout the whole process.  And guess what shows up?  You got it, the things we desire!   Napoleon Hill had it right all along, “Think and Grow Rich”.  I like to say it this way, “Think and Have What You Want”.

“A Sip of GIN A Day Keeps Success Coming Your Way”

Dear GIN Family,

Henry Ford said, “If you believe you can or you believe you can’t, you are right”.  The fact of the matter is every day we come to a fork in the road where we have to choose to believe in “Limitations” or believe in “Possibilities”.  It takes no greatness, no genius to believe in limitations, but it does require a highly developed person to believe, choose and act upon “Possibilities”.  It requires no courage to preach from the pulpit of limitation of why things won’t work and why it can’t work, but it does require Faith and Courage to proclaim your voice from the mountain top of “I believe in the Possibilities of Things”.  There is no reward, recognition in playing it safe, in “Let’s be reasonable, Don”, no honor in taking the no risk approach to life.  You may not want to hang on to the pole of Limitations while the ship of opportunity sails off without you.

Why are names like Ford, Edison, the Wright Brothers, Firestone, Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie, Helen Keller, Mary Kay Ash, Walt Disney and so many others household names?  Because these individuals refused to buy into the trading stock of limitations and invest heavily into the stock market of “Possibilities”.   How many times do you think these people heard from the masses and so called experts, “Give up, it can’t be done, you are wasting your time, you can’t do it, be reasonable, if God wanted mankind to fly He would of gave them wings”.  They were bombarded with offers to purchase the stock of “Limitations”.

We are all so better off because they had what it took, to turn down the offers of limitations and purchase the stock of possibilities.   Every set back, every failure, every mistake did not cause the decision to believe in the possibility of what they were doing to damper their faith.  They had vision, courage, faith and chose the “Possible” instead of “Limitation”.   Today you are living your life based on limitation or possibilities.  Which one are you choosing to live by?  There is never a reason, especially as a GIN member to choose limitation because God created all of us with an Imagination that is unlimited.  You have the ability to choose your thoughts, which means you have the power to create what you want, because thoughts are the energetic force of creation.

It all comes back down to what our good old friend Henry Ford said, whatever you choose, Limitation or Possibility you are right!

A SIP of GIN for Friday September 9, 2016

Friday September 9, 2016

Dear GIN Family,

Have you ever felt under pressure, press to the tilt, over stressed and the sense of running out and getting close to being burnt out?  Most of us have at some point in our life and career.  When our car overheats what do we do?  We pull over, take off the radiator cap, let the steam out and put more water or antifreeze in it.  We get under pressure because we choose to operate our life from the physical platform where very little solutions abide, depending on our limited logical brain to figure everything out.  And of course it cannot do that because it was not designed to function in that manner so we start “overheating” our brain until we feel like a pressure cooker ready to explode.  And if you don’t change things you will end up blowing up.

This is why I believe the very best investment you could ever make is in taking time every day to quite your mind, letting things go and taking the GIN training attitude “Care…but not that much”.  You can mediate and calm your mind for an hour first thing in the morning, unless of course you are super busy then take two hours to mediate!  You may find the ancient wisdom of learning how to slow down to speed up.

A SIP of GIN for Thursday September 8, 2016

Thursday September 8, 2016

Dear GIN Family,

Habit is a powerful force that allows us to accomplish amazing things if used correctly or keep us locked into a prison of limitation if used incorrectly.  We all have habits, those we have created on purpose and those we created by default.  Habits are simply a “Life Tool” and like any tool you can build or destroy with them.  The best way is to understand the power of habits and then use them to our advantage.

Habits when used correctly allow us to do more in less time with less effort.  It becomes an automatic response that is designed to reserve our energy.  Mental energy is designed to create things on the creative plane of life, it is not designed to be used on routine things that we choose to do to get us the things we want.  If we want to keep all our teeth in our skull, we develop the daily habit of brushing and flossing our teeth twice a day, and visits to our dentist for proper cleaning.  We do not need to exert mental energy on oral hygiene, we leave that to the power of habit, and use our mental energy to create the lifestyle of our dreams.

We can form the habit of always putting our keys in the same place so they never get lost, or we can form the habit of losing our keys every time we set them down.  The choice is ours but habit will always work the same way, creating results without mental effort.  Old negative habits can be broken and replaced by new productive ones that serve us whenever we are ready to change.  How long does it take to form a new habit?  Books tell us 21 days, but the truth of the matter is, it is not in the number days it takes but in the decision to change that we make.
