A New Approach

It was a beautiful weekend to be out on the lake. The sun was high in the sky, the waters were calm, and the breeze kept the temperature just right. At the end of the day, the sun began to set and Peter navigated the boat back home. As he approached the dock, the wind had shifted and substantially increased. What was once a gentle breeze was now pushing Peter's boat faster and awkwardly towards his destination at the wrong angle. The bow (front of the boat) was off the mark and he was going too fast. As he got closer to the shore, Peter realized that he was about to hit the dock. He quickly remembered his training about using the boat's momentum and power to his advantage; if you know the direction of the wind, you'll understand where you need to be for a successful dock. Peter reversed the power of the boat, pulled away and tried a new approach.

As you navigate through your goals and dreams, there will be times when the winds of change influence your direction and push you off course. Waves, rocks, wind, other boats, laser sharks and unanticipated complications can take you from calm waters to distress. However, if you know the direction of the wind, you can understand where you need to be. If you point your bow in the right direction, you'll position yourself right in line with your goal. Use your momentum to succeed in the areas where you can and try a new approach. A new approach, a different attitude, a renewed surge of positive energy. It's not all smooth sailing, but that can be part of the adventure.
